Beware of Rental Scams
Consumers Beware:
Avoid rental scams! Situations involving wire transfers or a landlord who is currently traveling and can’t meet you in person can be rental red flags.
Consumers should also be aware of scams from people posing to be real estate agents or landlords. So if you’re looking to buy or rent make sure you take the proper precautions.
**** I have had my own RENTAL listing posts taken and stolen by scammers to show my listing is 1/2 price and is available immediately. Just send money orders to Africa or anywhere. They mostly say it is through their charity or something to get you. Don’t fall for these ads. If it sounds too good, it probably is”. The scammers have a rental application and lease and everything. You send them the money first before they show you the house. Total scam artists at work. It is unbelievable. The poor tenants who have been scammed and given all the money actually call me to move in, because afterward, the post is linked back to me. It is disgraceful. Please tell others of this.
